July 11

July 11, 2025

Good news for recent grads, Bad Bunny and Adidas are hiring, and it's probably the only job where your experience maxing out your credit card on sneakers is considered brand loyalty. And while we're celebrating Puerto Rican excellence, Amanda Serrano is set to make history tonight (watch on Netflix at 8PM ET) as she faces Katie Taylor at Madison Square Garden in the first-ever all-women's fight night. Just a few years ago, Serrano was fighting for $15K, tonight, she’s splitting a cool $18 million with Taylor.

YOUR (LATINA) LOCKER ROOM

The stories and accomplishments of the greatest Latina athletes

Mariah Lopez: The Journey Continues

When Mariah Lopez stepped into the circle on May 7, 2023, against Oregon, she was already a proven star, but what happened next would define her legacy. Seven strikeouts and nine innings later, she had thrown a no-hitter, capping off a junior season that saw her lead Utah to the Pac-12 Tournament championship as the Most Outstanding Player.

But if you ask her what really shaped her game, it’s not the stats, it’s the foundation. Raised as one of five kids in a tight-knit household, Lopez credits her edge to a family-first mindset built by her parents, Reynaldo and JoAnn. That grounding shows up in how she plays and how she leads.

From college standout to pro with the New York Rise, and now a left-handed pitcher for the Talons in Athletes Unlimited, Mariah’s stayed locked in. Different jersey, same energy: calm, clutch, and always for the ones who got her here.

SPORT-ISH CHISME

💄 Karol G did not come to play. At Schiaparelli Haute Couture, she gave us matadora meets Madonna, draped in petal-shaped embroidery, beaded florals, and a butter satin train that screamed Back to the Future

🛍️ Willy Chavarria and Adidas clearly don’t care about our wallets because they just dropped another collection and my bank app just sent me the 😭 emoji.

👟 Rosalía is officially part of the NB fam, joining a stacked roster that includes Coco Gauff and Cameron Brink. Think: maximalist energy, chaotic good fashion, and the kind of creative chaos only Rosalía can deliver. No more dad-coded vibes, this is Motomami-core with a cushioned sole.

🎶 So… Daddy Yankee’s back? Again? Is this reggaetón’s version of the Tom Brady comeback arc? Because I swear we already cried, clapped, and made peace.
