Latin America waited a hundred years for a Winter Olympics podium.
Lucas Braathen made sure it didn’t wait one more.
While the Latina podium moment is still loading, these Games did give us Regina Martínez, ER doctor by day, midnight roller skier by necessity, dog walker, dreamer, representing Mexico without the budget, without the infrastructure, without the perfect conditions, and still making history.
And now the Winter Games are wrapping up. Benito’s halftime takeover is history. There’s only one thing left on the calendar.
The World Cup.
And we’re so damn ready.

THE FIRST. THE FORCE. THE BORICUA.
On February 8, 2026, somewhere beneath the roar of the Super Bowl LX crowd, Karina Ortiz was exactly where she was supposed to be. The Puerto Rican choreographer had helped build the halftime show from the inside out, movement by movement, alongside Bad Bunny, and in doing so, quietly became the first from the island to ever hold that role on that stage.
She wasn't alone in the work. Charm La'Donna shaped the creative vision, Melany Mercedes and Jovanni Soto moved through the process as associate choreographers, and Valerie Lemus held things together as assistant choreographer. Fellow Boricua Kianí Del Valle brought her own precision to the stunt choreography, two Puerto Ricans leaving their mark on the same night.
One night, one stage, one island represented at the highest level.
