This week, we pause as the music dims and a spotlight fades, honoring a life that composed the very rhythm of Latin culture.
A maestro has returned to stardust. Abraham Quintanilla Jr., the dream-weaver behind one of Latin music's most luminous families and the father who helped Selena sing her way into forever, has taken his final bow at 86. His legacy? A symphony that still echoes through our hearts and history.
SPORT-ISH CHISME | 🎨 Cristo Fernández reminds us that life isn’t only about the game; his upcoming kids’ book makes room for family, creativity, and new passions too. |
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
Lizbeth Ovalle wins the FIFA Marta Award for best goal. But was it even a competition?
El Salvador’s U-20 star Victoria Meza didn’t just play at Texas State, she ran it, 16 starts, four clutch goals, 1,395 minutes, and a Sun Belt Tournament MVP to cap it off.
At 13, Jailyn Lopez is already moving in national team circles and elite club rooms.

FIFA Hits Pause Then Play, Women’s Club World Cup Set for 2028
The Women’s Club World Cup is officially happening, just not as soon as we thought.
FIFA confirmed the inaugural tournament will kick off January 5 to 30, 2028, giving the women’s game a little more runway to get it right. That means a 16-team global showdown landing in an Olympic year, smack in the middle of Europe’s club season and perfectly timed for the NWSL offseason.
Translation: the stage is getting bigger, the calendar is getting bolder, and women’s club fútbol is finally getting the global moment it deserves, just two years later than planned.
